During the time when he studied Biology at University of Wisconsin - Madison, dannydan got interested in photography and took several photo classes. After finishing college in 2000, he moved to Chicago Illinois, then to San Francisco California to work in a scientific publication. He started doing some photography gigs before he decided to do photography full-time in 2002.

He worked with several event planners and various non-profit organizations. He lives in San Francisco California with two precious mini poodles, Pee Wee and Chessie. In the past he also have worked for Noodle magazine and contributed to numerous magazines and local papers.

Other than photography and taking his dogs to the dog park, he also loves hiking, biking, beaches, warm weather, PC role-playing games, board games, design zines, bookstores, and collecting postcards. He listens to pop and alternative music and loves foreign movies, Korean drama series, and sit-coms.

His favorite quotes are "Life is unfair, so you get used to it, make the best of it, and always try your best." and "Do you know why Indian rain dance always works? Because they never stop until it rains."

Working as an artist has taught dannydan a lot. He has sacrificed a lot more but to be able to do something he loves every single day and thinking that he is doing it for a reason just give him the most wonderful satisfaction. He thinks if one believes in his convictions and one's missions in life, at the end one will always be happy, eventhough to get to that end one has go through difficult times.

He has done several big photo projects in the past few years. He did three GAPA (Gay Asian Pacific Alliance) calendars and a cover for the 'Best Gay Asian Erotica' book by Cleis Press. He did numerous product advertisements, mostly for local bussiness and a few nationwide ads. He is also doing a photography project on Asian Males.
